Or so I have learned it is referred to by Texans. In any case, I am in fact home for the holidays, spending time with my family and Liz’ family. This is one of a few reasons why there has been no comic for not one, but TWO days.
The last few days have been fairly trying for us mentally and emotionally. On our way back from a drive to Austin, the clutch went out on our Beetle…. fifteen miles north of Lockhart. After about 4 hours, we finally got a tow home, costing more than we could really afford to spend, but not much of a choice, really. And since we were to be flying out to Sacramento the NEXT DAY, it was fairly inopportune, as well. (Though I count myself lucky that it died when it did, and not on the drive to the San Antonio airport. That would have been REALLY inopportune. Also, shitty.)
Anyhow, our friend Eric agreed to pick us up and even let us stay at his place in Helotes the night before leaving, and dropped us off at the airport, (My hero.) but we didn’t get to his place until around 2 AM, and we had to be up at 8 AM to make our flight, so that’s tuesday’s comic out the window.
And when we got in, we went to dinner and did a few other things with the parental units, before driving out to Rancho Murieta to pick up the car my sister was letting me borrow while I’m here, and didn’t wind up geting in until about 1 or so, but I had some trouble getting the computer on the network, and no method of transferring files from one computer to the next was readily apparent, so there’s wednesday’s comic gone. Ugh.
I WILL be doing comics whilst here – I can promise that. I’ll even be doing them starting tonight. Just don’t lose faith in me – I’m not really this unreliable. I promise.
