Now that I’m working from home, I spend a lot, I mean a LOT, of time on the computer. This isn’t that much different than when I used to be at work, except NOW, there’s no boss in the next room to worry about, so I don’t have to constantly be pretending to do important things with HTML every time I see his shadow coming around the corner (Just kidding, Dave – I really was doing important things with HTML.)(Most of the time)
The problem with this, however, is that now a simple entertaining website – one that I would have perhaps glanced at and noticed that it had a lot of content, then e-mailed the link to myself so I can check at home – can become the source of hours upon hours of good old fashioned work avoidance. This is especially bad when you work for yourself, however, because you’re not just running down the clock, padding a paycheck. You’re taking money out of your own pocket. I am, in essence, PAYING to view the interwebz. Time wasting sites are very dangerous.
However, for those of you who DON’T work for yourselves, I stumbled onto this site from a slashdot link a few days ago, and I cannot bring myself to close the tab. Enjoy.
