To preface this – yes, the battle royale, as it were, is most certainly real. During a company meeting, I championed the virtues of Facebook, and Laura raved about MySpace. In this meeting, the contest was born. I must win. The lust for victory is tangible.

Now, for the lowdown as to what this is actually all about. I’ve been meaning to talk about the People’s Food Movement here for a little while, but have gotten distracted every time. No longer. The People’s Food Movement is a project dave came up with a few months ago, and then the two of us sat down and hammered out the details. What emerged is something of a social food movement, where people join, submit ideas for products, and then the profit from the sale of those products if they are made gets redistributed amongst the members of the movement. Essentially, it’s a place for people who have a great idea or recipe for something that could sell well to submit it, and then get potentially huge rewards. You don’t HAVE to submit an idea to join and partake – you can simply join as a fan of food in general. The idea here is that people tell other people about the movement, and to buy products bearing the PFM seal on them (designed by Yours Truly, of course…) and then you’re essentially getting some of that money back – in a roundabout way. You can find more information at the People’s Food Movement website. (Again – created by moi.) Basically, it’s been my baby for the past few months, and I’m pretty damn proud of it.

For the sake of helping my cause, however, if you could mosey on over to the Facebook group prior to joining, and then specifying in the “Join the Movement!” form that you came to it via Facebook, it would help me claim my victory, and would secure me the greatest of all bragging rights.

And as we all know, bragging rights are TOTALLY AWESOME.
