A few people have written in with problems regarding the site design, so I thought I’d take a minute to tackle some of these.

First off, we have people who say that pretty much every image on the site except for the comic and the little donation linky thing do not appear. This is easy to fix – it means you’re most likely using Firefox’ AdBlocker plugin, which you will need to inform that Real Life is not its enemy – it is, in fact, its friend. See, in order to split the load right now so that the server doesn’t die as soon as morning hits, I’ve moved all the site interface images over to my more stable server, which was originally slated just to handle the advertising – ads.reallifecomics.com. Adblocker sees the ads subdomain, and assumes that anything coming from there is an ad, so it blocks it. Knowing FireFox, I assume there’s a way to “allow” certain sites, so you might want to do that. (Besides – the ads I run here are friendly and fuzzy. You’d like them. They volunteer time for community service, I’m told.)

The second issue is a little tougher for me to solve… people are saying that in Safari, when they open up the dropdown menus, as soon as they mouseover one of the items in the menu, the menu disappears. They’re written in CSS, so I really don’t know what’s causing this – the code has remained unchanged since we originally used it, so I have no idea what’s causing the problem. Help! :D

The last issue is kind of a weird one, also. The first time you load one of the pages, the rant space will appear a good amount of space under the comic – but as soon as you hit refresh, it pops back up. I’m guessing this is a weird CSS bug as well. Any help you can give on this one would be appreciated. It’s mostly just an aesthetic thing, but I want the site to look pretty for everyone, after all.

That’s all for now. Hopefully nothing more comes up… (i’m sure it will)

I’ve gotten some clarification on exactly when the issue with Safari rears its ugly head. It would seem the issue is only in effect in places where the menu overlaps things like the banners, where there is another link in effect. Still not sure how to fix it, but perhaps this’ll help you guys out. :)

I set the z-index on a few page elements, so I’m hoping that at least helps with the menu issue. Let me know if it fixed the issue or not. :)
