So, I just walked back into the office after an hour or so in the other room so I could finish and post the comic, only to find that my laptop had run out of power and died whilst I was away, despite the fact that it was plugged in, and the comic that I was written and 75% finished is now irrevocably lost. Just. Great.
The cord on my laptop’s power supply has been separating from the converter box for the past week, but before we left for comiccon, we were next to broke, so buying a new one was out of the question. It works if you really jam the cord back in (which, by the way, can be very interesting when your fingers make contact with the bare wire), which I THOUGHT I did and had all set up, but I guess not. It’s almost freaking 1 in the morning… there’s nothing I can do. It’s incredibly frustrating to essentially miss two comics this week, when I really was enjoying the writing. I’m going to attempt to do two of them tomorrow (Today’s and tomorrow’s) at work and get them uploaded. As usual, no promises… but that’s the plan.
This is why I envy you guys who do your stuff by hand. If I wasn’t such a damned Illustrator Evangelist, I’d toss the mouse aside and pick up a pen right here and now. I just LOVE technology right now. *growls*
Oh, and SPEAKING of technology, Mozilla ThunderBird can officially kiss my ass. Two installs later, the mailbox keeps reverting to read-only, and the junk mail folders follow soon after. Good luck getting support for that particular problem on the ThunderBird support forums, too. I would LOVE to have a working e-mail client. That would really make my day. Outlook’s already taken a crap on me, why wouldn’t ThunderBird do the same thing? *growls more*
