Liz: Listen, all I’m trying to argue for is a little parity here. You’ve spent an inordinate amount of work lately revising Mae’s appearance, but I’m still rocking this same hair helmet.
Cartoonist: I’m just trying to avoid going too far down the road when it comes to altering character appearances, you know?

Liz: Um, EXCUSE ME?!
Cartoonist: Okay, but that was KIND OF A NECESSITY.

Liz: I’m not suggesting you keep it up-to-the-minute current or anything, but you could at least take another look at it, since you’ve had two decades drawing experience since you first drew it.
Cartoonist: *sigh* FINE. God, who knew drawing a comic would involve so much actual DRAWING?

Liz: And while you’re at it, Harper is basically as tall as I am, and Parker is almost 2.
Cartoonist: Ha! Joke’s on you - I don’t have to redraw the kids if I don’t ever write any comics with them in it!
Liz: What do you think this is, 9 Chickweed Lane?!
