Yep. Last night, Liz and I got on, and with the help of a few Linkshell mates (hell, who am I kidding? They killed stuff in the mines while we sat back and watched) I got myself a magicked skull. Gusgen mines was the place to BE, as they got a skull in less than five minutes. :D Anyway, then Liz and I headed back to the dunes to kill stuff and get to 18. We WOULD have been finished at about 12:45, but I’m pretty sure we were cursed or something. I managed to get to 18 after a bit, but for some reason, we would have no trouble fighting things, but as soon as liz would get under 100 xp till her next level, inadvertendly something would go wrong. A goblin would toss 2 bombs, then aggro on her, or something. Something totally out of our control. It just sucked. I wasn’t about to give up, though, and we stayed on till she got 18, and then we headed on down to get our subjobs. At 3 am. On a work night. It’s a wonder i’m even coherent enough to write this.

And I’m pretty sure you don’t care. :) Anyway, back to comic stuff.

Now, bear with me here. I don’t know if many of you have seen this yourselves, but if you have, you know what I’m talking about. And if you haven’t, you’ll see. So, I went to the store, and I notice in the beverage cooler, alongside cans of Coca-Cola, this little odd red can, also ostensibly by Coke. It looks like an energy drink, but by Coke? I had to find out, so I bought it. I present to you, Exhibit A.

Now, on the left you see a standard 12 oz can of Coke, and on the right you see an 8.4 oz can of “Coca-Cola”. I say that because the actual text is not overly readable, but it says it’s coca-cola. Now, under a direct taste test, I can tell no difference between these beverages, but that’s not going to stop me. It’s time to get scientifical.

This is the nutrituion information listed on both cans, side by side. I divided the nutritional information by the number of ounces in the can to get the amount per ounce. In the 12 oz can, there were approximately 11.67 calories, 4.17 mg of Sodium, and 3.25 g of Sugar. In the 8.4 oz can, there were approximately 11.9 calories, 4.11 mg Sodium, and 3.33 g of Sugar. Slightly different, but the exact amounts listed on the can are more than likely rounded to the nearest whole point, which would skew the numbers slightly. Furthermore, the ingredients listed are not only the same, but listed in the same order, leading me to believe there is no more caffeine in the second can than in the first. Both cans bear the “Original Formula” logo, further pointing out the lack of a difference.

So, we have two cans containing the exact same beverage, but in two different, yet similar, sizes. However, BOTH cans cost me, at the store, $0.99. What I’m trying to get at is that Coke is marketing a version of their drink placed in a can to resemble the now-popular energy drink cans to get people to buy it, thinking it’s new, when in fact it’s the same old crap. This tells me that coke is in fact run by marketing GENIUSES, as they can sell less for more, and get away with it. Granted, they have no respect for their consumers while doing so, but hey. Money is money, right? If anyone has any inside knowledge on this crazy little coke can, I’d be interested to hear it, cause i’m just flat-out baffled.

Oh, and here’s a picture of Matt Boyd with his head covered in cotton.
