Takin’ a day off: Birthday Edition

June 23, 2010

Well, since I didn’t get to take the day off at work (Hell, I realized by the end of the day that I hadn’t even mentioned it was my birthday) and I spent the rest of the evening cavorting with friends and family, I think I’m gonna call a comic day-off today so I can get some rest and try to recuperate a little.

I want to take a moment though and thank everyone who took a few minutes to wish me well on Facebook. I don’t often log into it, since I don’t usually have a whole lot of interesting things to say, but I will say this: seeing the facebook wall posts pop into my inbox all day long was pretty cool, you guys.

I’m generally low-key about my birthday… not so much because I hate the thought of getting older, (on the contrary: I’m actually looking forward to 30. The further I can get from my stupid 20-year old self the better) it’s just that I’m not big on the whole “birthday party” thing. My ideal party was pretty much what we had tonight: Mongolian BBQ and Rock Band. My only real accomplishment is managing to avoid killing myself for another year, which… well, being honest, IS kind of a big thing for me. :P

That said, it was nice to see the well-wishing, and it got me through what was otherwise a grueling day at work. So thanks, guys – I mean that.

And you know, It’s been a long time since I’ve just logged on to this little rant area and just started goin’. I think I’m going to have to try and start doing this on a regular basis!

TRY, of course, being the operative word. It’s me we’re talking about, here.
