I thought it might be a good idea to let you guys know that Greg and I will not be at Comic Con this year. We might not be there next year either. Reason number one is that the booths cost mega bucks and they seem to sell out almost at the door. Since Greg and I don’t have that kind of money without saving up, we are kind sunk.
Reason number two is that we’re not sure if Comic Con is really the place for webcomics. Most of the people that attend aren’t really aware of webcomics and if they are aware, they generally aren’t interested in obtaining something else to take up all of their time. We generally go to Comic Con and end up walking away breaking even or even sometimes losing money. Most of our fans go and spend their funds at the Megatokyo, Penny Arcade or PVP booths. So it doesn’t really seem worth the pain of sitting in a loud, hot convention center for four days.
The good news is that I am trying to get Greg invited to a bunch of other conventions this year so that we can still meet up with the RL community and maybe even be able to HEAR each other! Isn’t that amazing?!? /end sarcasm. Right now we are slotted for the folowing conventions:

Vancouver, BC, Canada
Kumoricon
September 3rd-5th, 2005
Portland, Oregon
Nothing has been set in stone yet, but we are looking at going to next year’s Connecticon, and I-CON. If any of you know of any conventions that might be interested in having us attend, please send me an e-mail with the appropriate website address and contact information.
