Panel 1
Mae: It’s been ages since I’ve had a chance to play Final Fantasy XIV. I think it’s high time I hop back in.
Tony: Good luck with that.

Panel 2
Mae: TWO THOUSAND PEOPLE IN QUEUE?! What in the name of Rhalgr is going on?!
Tony: Yeah, I thought you knew about that. The global semiconductor shortage means Square-Enix hasn’t been able to get new servers to accommodate increased demand without spending a ton of money, so the queues to play have been massive.

Panel 3
Mae: Ah, that sounds familiar. Same reason I can’t afford a new graphics card.
Tony: Almost exactly the same, since the graphics cards are all being bought up by crypto miners, and can’t be replaced quickly enough because of the shortage.
Mae: Well, shit. Has Square-Enix announced any plans to fix it in the meantime?

Panel 4
Tony: No, but they did announce they were going to double down on NFT-based gaming, so…
Mae: Everything is fucked. I’m going to go cry in the bathroom.
Tony: I’m honestly impressed… it’s so stupid it circles back around again to evil. That’s the dream.
