Panel 1
Doctor: Well, after going over the screening process and talking with you, I feel extremely confident in a diagnosis of combined-type ADHD.
Mae: Wow. I mean, I know I contacted you about the assessment, but I figured it was all in my head.
Doctor: It is! Just in a different way than you mean.

Panel 2
Doctor: How sensitive would you say you are to caffeine?
Mae: I could drink an energy drink before bed and be out like a light.
Doctor: OK, so yeah, we’ll go ahead and start you on a low dose of a stimulant-based medication and see how that goes.

Panel 3
Doctor: I’m sending a prescription for Adderall to your pharmacy - take that twice a day and we’ll check back in at the end of the month.
Mae: Awesome! I have to say, that was honestly a lot easier than I was expecting.

Panel 4
Doctor: That’s because you’re a comic character, and portraying the months you spent dealing with doctors and insurance before finally finding a psychiatrist that would help you would be way too depressing for a gag-a-day strip.
Mae: Score one for Comic Mae!
