I need to learn to stop scheduling crap that’s going to take a long time on Sundays. I spent pretty much all of yesterday locked in a death battle with my crappy-ass network, and then today I went up to Tahoe to help Liz’ parents set up some new computers at the store. What should have been a 2-hour job became a 5-hour job because of crappy hardware and software, and we didn’t get back into town until damned near midnight. And frankly, right now I’m just REALLY not up to sitting down with Illustrator and making a comic happen. This is why I need a backlog. Everyone has really crappy days now and again, and it just feels wrong to do a comic when I’m in a bad mood. I have it all up here, I’ll be working on it tomorrow, but not for tonight.
Generally speaking, I need to try a lot harder to get the comic done ahead of time on Fridays. Weekends just really kick my ass, and it seems like we always have something planned. Oftentimes the unplanned comes up and bites me in the ass. Some day, some weekend, I will have no prior commitments. It will happen. Until that day, I need to do monday’s comic on friday come hell or high water. Blagh. Okay, I’m going to bed. Invariably, the act of sleeping will improve my mood, and I’ll be bright and cheery to work on a comic tomorrow. See you then.
